We reimagined the design of this Decathlon kids’ snowboard boot to make it better for kids. The boot has no liner, which means it has only one tightening mechanism: this makes it more convenient for kids and parents. For greater comfort, we also made the boot lighter.

A word from the product manager

The idea for the Indy 100 Snowboard Boots came to us from an instructor’s comment: “We have to get rid of the traditional lace-up boots and knots. All too often I have to start my classes by tightening the kids’ laces.” We upgraded the product this winter by adding a hook-and-loop tab at the shins for perfect tightening.

Fast Lock 2-zone tightening system

This boot has a soft flex (2/10). This provides greater comfort and less fatigue. A soft flex helps beginners get their stance right on the board: ankles flexed to avoid straight legs. Snowboarding demands fast reactions, and keeping knees bent is important. Stiff boots can put beginners at a disadvantage.

Boot flex/stiffness

Ankle padding fills the hollow under and behind the ankle, keeping the heel firmly in place.
The level 1 liner is made of a relatively soft, one-piece material with 10 mm (0.4”) thick foam ankle pads.
The goal is to provide heel-foot support that matches the boot’s performance level. The faster a young rider goes, the more energy they expend and the more foot support they need. Comfort foam achieves this goal by providing maximum all-round comfort.

Our Ultralight sole is 100% EVA.
EVA is a very light material with 80% air. This material resists abrasion while maintaining its damping properties. It is naturally very insulating and protects you from the cold ground.
The lug tread offers excellent grip without retaining snow.
