What will you be using it for?

With our hiking jacket, rain won’t stop you! The 25,000-mm water (Schmerber) waterproof fabric keeps you dry in average to heavy rain showers. Performance approved by the JIS standard.

How waterproof is it?

Schmerber measures the waterproofing rating of a fabric. The higher the number, the drier you remain. Our jacket has a rating of 25,000 Schmerber: this means it resists the pressure exerted by a 25-metre column of water.

What are Schmerbers?

And the membrane? A shield against the rain! Laminated to the inside of the fabric, this thin second layer repels rain while letting perspiration escape.   So you stay dry, both outdoors and in. On this two-layer jacket, the membrane is only bonded to the outer layer.

What is a membrane?

Close the zippers and turn it inside out. Machine wash at 30°C. To avoid detergent residue, use a bit less detergent (one specially designed for waterproof clothing if possible) than usual and do a second rinse. Avoid wringing it out to prevent damaging the jacket.

How do you wash this hiking jacket?

Three methods: 
- Dry for 15 minutes in a tumble dryer to reactivate the water-repellent treatment
- Wash with our detergent for technical waterproof fabrics and use a water repellency reactivating after-wash
- Use a water repellency reactivator spray
