A hood with 3D tightening is easy to adjust in one move. The hood moves with your head without getting in the way. It is compatible with helmets.
The preformed hood has a high collar to protect your face in intense cold or strong winds. The micro-perforated zipper flap makes breathing easier while keeping your face protected.

3D hood

The wide, adjustable sleeves fit over gloves to protect you and keep you dry and warm in case of a fall. Elastane cuffs with a thumb loop provide a perfect seal between the gloves and the jacket.

To stay dry, it is important to wear a waterproof jacket. But you shouldn’t end up wet with perspiration.
Vents play a key role in wicking away perspiration.
That’s why this jacket has two large ventilation zippers under the arms (35 cm/14” in size L).
The ventilation zipper in front can be opened and closed very quickly.

The wide, pre-shaped sleeves are designed for complete freedom of movement.
This jacket has two components. It guarantees good freedom of movement and resistance to abrasion.

To stay warm and dry, follow the 3-layer rule: A base layer and midlayer jacket retain warmth, while a ski jacket protects you from bad weather.
The second layer provides warmth, such as down jackets or fleece sweaters.

What should you wear under your ski jacket?

Keeps the elements out while allowing perspiration to escape, preventing condensation. Ideally, it should be waterproof and breathable. The third layer can also provide insulation, such as lined pants and jackets. This complements the properties of the second layer.

The third layer

The snow skirt is a protection system at waist level that closes with snaps at the bottom of a ski or snowboard jacket. It blocks snow and drafts, especially in the event of a fall. It can be fastened to pants using the three loops with snaps.

Keeping snow out if you fall

A fabric’s water repellency is its ability to make water bead off its surface without being absorbed. This helps the fabric stay light, breathable, and warm. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. This treatment needs to be reapplied during the life of the garment (recommended every three washes). All Wedze jackets are treated for water repellency.

Water repellency

The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A fabric with a waterproof rating of 15,000 mm is resistant to the pressure exerted by a 15,000 mm column of water.

Component waterproofing

To determine a fabric’s breathability, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). A lower evaporative resistance means more perspiration can escape, increasing the fabric’s breathability.  For example: 
RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric 
12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric 
RET > 20 = little or no breathability

The coating is like a paint applied to the inside of the fabric, making it waterproof yet breathable. It is often less expensive than a membrane and requires a liner to protect it.  A membrane, a very thin plastic film (polyurethane), makes the material waterproof yet breathable. Flexible, lighter, and more durable than a coating, it is often also more breathable.

A garment’s waterproofness depends on its fabric, seam sealing, and design.
Then shower tests are conducted.

How do we make a garment waterproof?

This garment was shower-tested under 100 L (26.5 gal) of water/m²/hour for 3 hours. 
This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy storm.

In addition to breathable materials, other technical features (zippers, vents, mesh) improve the overall ventilation of our ski jackets and pants. These ventilation features regulate the temperature inside the garment and help to eliminate perspiration.

Anyone buried in the snow equipped with Recco® reflectors can be quickly and accurately located by emergency services using the Recco® tracker. Recco® reflectors are not a substitute for an avalanche beacon. Recco® technology works as an additional safeguard, increasing the chances of being found in time.
