To earn certification, the shoes must pass lab tests to assess their grip on different surfaces (smooth, rough, dry, wet). 
These tests are validated by a panel of testers who evaluate the quality of our soles out in the mountains.

Sole grip

For hiking, it’s best to go one size up from your child’s usual shoe size. This will ensure optimal comfort on the way down slopes and prevent the toes from hitting the end the shoe. Tip: keep toenails short and before any descent, check that the straps and/or laces are properly fastened to prevent the foot from slipping forward in the shoe.

Which size should you choose?

Allow children to try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks they will be wearing while hiking. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot while standing on a downward incline. Avoid all pressure points when trying shoes on.
Break your shoes in gradually during your first few hikes.   

Tips

Removable insole for faster drying. Insole can be replaced by an orthopaedic insole.
