The inside fabric is brushed—a tried-and-tested method for retaining heat. The principle is simple: the knit component is designed to trap air, which acts as a natural insulator, keeping the body warm. Animal fur and feathers work on exactly the same principle. Cuffs provide extra protection against the cold.

Is my jacket warm enough for winter hikes?

Synthetic fleece performs like wool: warm, yet still lightweight. Soft and comfortable, quick-drying, and breathable.

What is the fleece material and why is it so warm?

We test for durability. For example, we verify that the fleeces do not pill, that colours do not run, and that repeated washing does not affect the fabric’s properties. The Martindale test measures a fabric’s abrasion resistance. A machine rubs a sample of the fabric on a reference surface with a weight at the end.

Is a soft, comfy material fragile?

With its wide fit and lightweight component, your fleece lets you move freely, which is essential when walking in the snow. The zippered pockets keep essentials safe and handy (e.g., tissues, lip balm, gloves, keys, and more). The hood makes this jacket ultra-warm for hiking in cold weather.
