Stained my clothes and not totally waterproof

I received my rain poncho and cycled in it under the rain for about 45 minutes. The material is nice and light, but it's not completely waterproof, I got wet and what is more - it stained my clothes. The color from the raincoat leaked onto my white pants and scarf, leaving big
colour streaks.
