The 580 boot is ideal for all experienced skiers. Thanks to the flex adjustment, the boot can be made more tolerant (getting back into skiing, skiing with children, etc.) or more sporty (more responsive, more precise, etc.). The medium volume is suitable for most foot shapes, offering a great balance of comfort and support. The shell (much higher than on a standard boot) provides excellent coverage of the shins and distributes weight efficiently. You choose!

Flex adjustment for varying intensity:
Using a key, switch from the “Softer” position (more flexible and therefore more tolerant) to the “Stiffer” position (more rigid and precise/responsive).

Example: start your ski holiday in the “Softer” position to get your feel back and save energy, then switch to the “Stiffer” position to step up the intensity as you get back into the groove.

Flex adjustment

The 580 ski boot has 4 aluminum micrometric buckles for powerful and precise tightening. Adjust the length of the buckle for the ideal fit. The 2 top buckles have 3 positions to fit all calf sizes (one of which doesn’t require tools). A wide, adjustable strap on the upper for strong and easy closure at the top of the shell.

Buckle adjustment

Brands assign a flex rating to every boot. This rating indicates the rigidity of the boot: the higher the value, the stiffer the shell. A flex of 60–70 is considered best for beginner skiers. A 70–100 flex rating is for intermediate skiers. A rating above 100 is aimed at advanced skiers. Heavier skiers, however, can go up a level.

What is flex?

Once your foot is in the boot, fasten the buckles to the midpoint. Can you go further? This means the volume of the boot isn’t right for you. Once the boot is closed, flex the boots three times by pressing hard on the shins (put your hands on your knees to help) and push your heel backwards inside the boot. Stand upright: your foot should touch the end of the shell. When you flex, your foot should move backwards so you can no longer feel the tip.

How do you know if the boot is the right size?

1- Choose a technical ski sock that’s thin to prevent pressure points and promote blood circulation in the foot.
2- Choose a sole adapted to the shape of your foot to prevent it from being squashed and pressing against the shell. Ask an in-store salesperson for advice.


What should you do if you experience foot pain?

The 580’s liner is thermoformable at the ankle. While not essential, thermoforming can help reduce areas of discomfort.
This means that the foam of the liner can heat up to fit to the shape of your feet and the shell of the boot. This improves foot/liner/shell compatibility and reduces areas of discomfort.

Is my liner thermoformable, and what does thermoforming do?

1- Air out your boots by removing the liner from the plastic shells.
2- Fasten the buckles at the first notch to prevent the boots from becoming deformed and, if possible, store them in a boot bag. 
3- If possible, store them in a dry place above 10°C. The boot’s plastic will thank you for it!
