The mount is made of plastic but with four metal stud screws for tightening the straps. As metal meets plastic, the grooves on the straps are stripped easily. There's very little grip by the hard plastic straps to the round bicycle frame. As a result, the mount is shifting aro
und. Not a great product and don't expect it to last.

Maybe I got lucky, but I didn't have any of the issues with the button or screws, that some of the other reviewers did. I was able to fit it to my bike without issue and 6 months later, it's still intact. My main gripe is that the straps aren't easy to cut to size. I wasn't
able to get a clean cut and they're a bit sharp. Ultimately, there don't seem to be any alternatives on the market, for when your original d-lock mount breaks. This isn't a high quality product, but it worked for me and is much cheaper than buying a new lock.
