The recommended pressure is clearly marked on the ball by the manufacturer. 
Ideally, you should use a pump with a pressure gauge for precision inflation.
We recommend a pressure of 8.99 psi.

How Much Should You Inflate Your Basketball?

The ball size depends on the player’s age and gender.
Size 1: Ages 2 and up.
Size 3 to size 5: Girls and boys ages 4 to 6/mini-basket under 7 age group (depending on levels and clubs).
Size 5: Boys and girls ages 7 to 10/under 9 and under 11 age groups.
Size 6: Boys ages 11 and 12/under 13 age group.
Size 6: Girls over 11 and women of all ages (used in women's competitions)
Size 7: Boys over 13 and men of all ages (used in men's competitions)

What ball size to choose? 

For durability, choose a rubber ball. For a good ball feel, choose a leather or synthetic ball.

Which ball should you use?

The official height of a basketball hoop is 3.05 m (10') (rim height).
If you want a basketball hoop for your child, you need something that will grow with them. 
There isn’t an official height for younger kids, so you can choose whatever suits them best.
Up to the age of 10, club hoops are set at 2.60 m (8'5"). 
After the age of 10, both girls and boys play with hoops set at 3.05 m (10').
