The Tribord Offshore 900 range was developed and road-tested by ocean racers in real-life conditions by world-class sailors: Jean-Baptiste Daramy on Class 40, Achille Nebout on Figaro 3, Romain Le Gall and Léo Bothorel on Mini 6.50.

The fabric has a 3-layer membrane and resists water pressure of up to 30,000 mm Schmerber.The higher the water pressure a fabric can withstand, the more waterproof it is.
The product has been tested to withstand 450 L/M²/h rains over 24 hours (3 x 8 hours).

Water resistance

The neoprene sleeve cuffs and
adjustable drawstring waist help keep water out.
The seams are 100% watertight.
A rigid visor has been integrated into the hood for greater protection.

Waterproofing

The fabric and fasteners are water-repellent.
A fabric is water-repellent when water slides off the surface without seeping in.
It remains lightweight and breathable. The water-repellent coating applied to the fabric can become less effective over time.
You can restore the water-repellent properties by putting the jacket in a dryer for 10 minutes on the lowest temperature.

Water repellency

To find out if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat transfer (RET). Breathability is a fabric’s ability to let the body’s perspiration escape.. The lower the RET, the easier it is for perspiration to pass through the fabric.
This product’s RET is 25.

The collar has 2 sections:
- A neoprene section with a zip and rip-tab that can be adjusted to keep water out. This section reaches up to the mid-neck.
- The “storm” section has a hood and goes right up to the nose for optimal protection. This section can be removed thanks to the zip around the neck. The inside of the collar is lined with a soft micro-fleece for extra comfort.
- The collar features rip-tab fasteners.

Removable hood and double collar

The hood can be stowed in the jacket’s collar.
The hood can be adjusted at the front around the face to prevent it from blowing off in the wind. The depth can be adjusted as well.
A rigid visor has been integrated into the hood for greater protection.

Adjusting and storing the hood

The neoprene cuff helps keep water out in stormy weather.
A second waterproof layer is added on top. Adjustable rip tabs help protect the neoprene and keep water out.
Tips: if wearing mitts or gloves, wear them between the two sleeve cuffs for extra comfort and to prevent water from entering through any gaps.

Double-sealed cuffs

The shell jacket has 2 large pockets:
- One waterproof front storm pocket with separate compartments that’s easy to access. This pocket contains a removable, waterproof pouch that’s perfect for storing your mobile phone.
- One kangaroo-style hand-warmer pocket. This pocket is fleece-lined and isn’t waterproof.
The pockets are designed to let water escape.

The elbows and forearm sleeves are reinforced for additional resistance.

In size L, the shell jacket weighs:
- 1020 g with the collar
- 760 g without the collar

Weight

This garment has a generous cut. It is designed to be worn with a fleece and thermal underlayers.
Men can choose their usual size.
Women should choose one size smaller than usual.

Sizing

After use, rinse thoroughly with clean water, paying attention to the zips, to remove any salt.
Dry on a clothes hanger in a well-ventilated area.
You can also lay your garment flat on a clothes rack to dry. Never dry your shell jacket directly on a radiator.
If you can’t lay it out laid flat, use the loop on the back to hang it on a coat rack.

Washing your jacket

Close all zippers and flaps, loosen the straps and drawstrings, and empty the pockets.
Turn the garment inside out and wash.

Washing your jacket Step 1

Wash the jacket using the synthetics cycle (30°C–40°C) with regular detergent. Don’t use fabric conditioner or bleach, as these could damage the water-repellent coating.
Don’t fold your jacket too much when you place it in the washing machine. Do not overload the machine.
Very important: Run a full rinse cycle or extra rinse to remove all detergent residue.

Washing your jacket Step 2

Drying is a crucial phase in restoring the water-repellent treatment.
You can also lay your garment flat on a clothes rack to dry. Caution: never dry your shell jacket directly on a radiator or in direct sunlight.
Place your jacket in the dryer and run a short synthetics cycle (10–15 min.) before turning it right-side-out. Caution: do not over-dry.

Reactivating water repellency

Drying or hanging your jacket

A shell jacket is designed for manoeuvres at the bow of a boat (positions 1 and 2), protecting the wearer in extreme weather thanks to its half-zip.
Nevertheless, the jacket is rather advised for less exposed positions, and its zip allows for the jacket to be entirely opened, easily and quickly.
