To prevent the rubber strip (rubber or PU) and the aluminum rim from coming undone, we recommend breaking it in just after your purchase. 
Breaking them involves riding a little (several miles) without doing tricks or slides. It allows the glue between the rubber and the rim to properly settle in and properly grip.
