Bike is well equipped and quite comfortable to ride. A bit on the heavy side, but apparently sturdy. The mostly-105 group shifts well. Hybrid hydraulic brakes are effective.

I’m very happy with my purchase.

Already had a road bike but needed a well rounded bike without worrying to break or slide off the road during the early season with leftover salt or sand. Plan is to swap tires to 38 from 28. Already have a Specialized allez sprint but this price point was hard to toss up.

Ride on this "stock" is no where near smooth. And partially due to bad setup. Have since tried with 38 tires and the experience is night and day. At the store the rep had tried to straighten the front disc brake. With much effort. When brought home for more inspection, there was still rubbing. The alignment was bad and very noticeable. Would recommend not taking the bike from the store and order directly. There were a number of spots friend told / showed me was over torqued and if it was a carbon fiber bike there would be a lot of damage. After that conversation, I would trust myself over any decatlon tech. There are torque numbers all over the bike to follow. I believe in the brand to deliver good options but customer service and build quality is far and few between. I have talked over the phone and not a great experience. Next time I will ship directly to home and avoid possible mishandling. At this point, you aren't getting expert comments and support. If you are a person who can tolerate custom service to save money then you have found your match. Otherwise go elsewhere.

Great bike like it a lot

Amazing entry level bike.

The RC 520 is an excellent road bike, and, to be honest, I am very pleasantly surprised. I took a gamble after reading reviews and watching several videos online. I have a hybrid bicycle but I wanted, nay, needed a return to a drop handle road bike and after much research and

deliberation, decided upon the RC 520. It is very well equipped for a bicycle in this price range, far lower than anything else with the same or similar components. The gears are smooth, weight minimal and handles easily. The hybrid brakes work very well and the tires run smooth for what they are. I highly recommend this bike for anyone wanting to get into a road bike at a decent price. My only "gripe" is that I was told that I should see a "cheque" from Decathlon n the mail but I have yet to receive that (it was the recent promo in getting money back when buying a new bike; the amount depended upon which bike).

A great bike, however I was not at all happy when the first one I ordered was delivered with a rusty chain. It wasn't falling apart but come on guys. I took it back for unrelated reasons, only to find the second bike delivered: 1) Did not have a front wheel aligned properly

to the handlebars (easy fix) 2) more annoying the front derailleur wasn't even close to accurate, result in chain rub in both high and low on the front train ring. (This is not an easy fix on a shimano 105, at least not for a mortal like me, super bloody annoying). This is something that should never have left and the store and the screeching of my chain against the derailleur would have been apparent on even a cursory inspection. Super disappointing experience. Didn't really want to spend an hour of New Bike Day faffing around trying to tune a new derailleur mech I had never tried before. If you order this bike, do click and collect, and do not leave the store with doing some basic tests.
