I purchased 2 of these at the end of the winter season in spring 2023. I used them for the first time a couple weeks ago when ski touring Burstall Pass in Alberta. The clasp where the collapsable pole tightens, snapped in half when I was about 90% done my approach. I was able

to create a support stint using sticks, duct tape and ski straps which helped me get through the rest of the tour. The very next day I went to Decathalon Calgary and spoke with a couple staff members about my issue. I liked the weight and long grip helps with steep slopes, overall I was happy with the pole and wanted to continue to support and use these. I asked for a new one and this was provided with no issues. The employees who specialize in the backcountry ski tour area said they have only seen a couple break while being used. This past weekend I took the new pole (and my other existing one) and was out climbing Hero's Knob to ski down Sweet 16. The new pole broke in the exact same spot, leaving me again in the middle of my approach with only 1 working ski pole. I was able to again half fix it while on the mountain and finish my tour. I have a lot of decathalon gear, however I do not feel confident in Decathalon's collapsable ski poles. Twice in 3 tours they have snapped in the same spot. I have more tours planned as well as some multi-day trips and I need to be able to rely on my gear. Unfortunately I will be returning my broken pole as well as my unbroken one and looking for other more reliable options.

Used now for 2 separate weeks of skiing and multiple hikes. Love these poles. The hand grips in particular are stand out. Really multi functional. Easy to move hand up and down with changing terrain when hiking. They don't ice up in snow and are still easy to use with mittens.

Pole tips really grip when hiking, even on rock. They don't fold as small as some poles but that's not an issue for me.
